science education and Outreach
In addition to my research, I work as a leader in an autonomous science education project that we have acquired funding from the Tieteen tiedotus ry (2019), ESEB (Outreach Initiative Grant from the European Society for Evolutionary Biology, 2018 and 2019) and Kone Foundation (2020-2023). This project employs 2 evolutionary ecologists and two art pedagogics. Together we develop tools and teaching material for school teachers to demonstrate how biological interactions shape and maintain biodiversity. Our workshops also demonstrate how humans affect these interactions e.g. via habitat destruction and climate change. You can find more information from our project here: Evolution in action -project.
I am also an Editor in Wisdom Letters, which is a new publication that provides science-based policy briefs and information letters for the general public and political decision makers.
I lead a Science testers -science education project funded by Finnish Cultural Foundation at Central-Finland in 2020-2021.
